West Central Province
The Daughters of Charity are an international community of women dedicated
to serving the poor.
Daughters of Charity help to educate, to heal and work for systemic change. We serve a diverse population — from toddlers to the elderly and women in prison. At the root of every task is our dedication to promote human development and address complex social issues. You can learn more about the work we do in Our Ministries.
Like other women who serve in the religious community, Daughters take vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. But unlike other groups, we do not make perpetual vows. Every year on the Feast of the Annunciation we choose to renew our commitment to God and our vow of service to the poor.
